El equipo de robótica del Grupo de Sistemas Intelixentes del departamento de Electrónica de Computación de la USC emplea, como principal novedad este año, software libre en la creación de robots.
Así lo destaca el VI Informe sobre a situación tecnolóxica do software libre, maio-xullo de 2007, coordinado por el profesor de Electrónica y Computación de la USC Tomás Fernández, en el que se recoge la puesta en marcha de un gran número de nuevas distribuciones GNU/Linux. El equipo de robótica de la USC se centra en enseñar a los robots a tomar decisiones a partir de los datos que toman los sensores que llevan incorporados
