La compañía alemana AHN Biotechnologie ha creado, gracias a la nanotecnología, un cigarro con nicotina, pero sin monóxido de carbono ni alquitrán, que no precisa combustión.
El producto se distribuye ya en Alemania, Italia y España. El E-cigarette es un dispositivo ligeramente más largo que un cigarrillo normal.
Este cigarrillo electrónico contiene un filtro intercambiable que contiene líquido con nicotina y propilenglicol.
Cuando el fumador inhala, el flujo de aire es detectado por un sensor, y un microprocesador activa un atomizador que inyecta gotitas deese líquido en el aire inhalado, lo que produce vapor.
El E-cigarette, que cuesta 78 euros, se alimenta por medio de una batería recargable.
Concretamente en nuestro país, el "cigarro sin humo" se vende bajo el nombre de Similar en 16 provincias y estará prácticamente en todas antes de verano.
