Un sismo de 5,4 grados en la escala de Richter causó pánico anoche en las inmediaciones del patagónico volcán chileno de Chaitén, en erupción desde el 2 de mayo.
El temblor no dejó hasta ahora heridos ni muertos en la zona, a unos 1.300 kilómetros al Sur de Santiago, según reportó la agencia alemana de noticias Ansa.
El epicentro del movimiento telúrico estuvo a 11 kilómetros al suroeste de la localidad de Hornopirén y 67 kilómetros al sur de Puerto Montt, con una profundidad de 22,4 kilómetros.
La Oficina Nacional de Emergencias del Ministerio del Interior (Onemi), dijo que los sismos registrados en la zona desde el viernes no tienen origen volcánico y corresponden a actividad tectónica
